Hi Guys,

Yesterday I decided to convert Bounce from the Sinclair ZX81 to the Commodore VIC-20. The first release candidate is attached to this thread if anyone would like to test it.

I could also do with a VIC musician as there's about 1K of RAM remaining according to FRE(0).

Cronosoft and Psytronik are currently evaluating it for release.

My suggestion is to be patient with the game as something will change eventually ;-)

Regards,

Shaun.

All working for me! Nice to see something for good old VIC-20!

Hi Andy,

The feedback I've had from my tester is that RC 2 starts off too slow, so I've done some optimisations and stuff but hopefully kept the principle of it getting faster as you go through the levels. So, RC 3 is imminent.

When I'm happy, I'm going to do a 8/16K version called Bounce+, and then look at something that uses the 16-bit high character set.

Also, I need to convert Shoot, but will do so by making it a 2 player co-op game with paddles.

Regards,

Shaun.

The 'wipe' of the title screen seems quicker, or is it my imagination?

Slight optimisations everywhere, they all add up a bit I guess.

The freeware version has been released, see the 'latest releases, updates and news' sub-forum for the PRG file.

Regards,

Shaun.
